Electrocardiography or EKG is the study of the electrical activity of the heart measured and recorded on a paper (electrocardiogram) using electrodes placed on the skin of the limbs and chest. The electrocardiogram is an essential tool for diagnosing abnormalities related to the electrical activity of the heart.
You will learn the anatomy and physiology of the heart including the chambers of the heart, the great vessel coming in and out of the heart, the pumping action and electrical activity.
You will learn and understand the electrocardiogram with its different wave forms and what each one of these waves represent. You will also learn the different types of arrhythmias or irregular rhythms, heart blocks, normal and abnormal axis and more.
At the end of the course you will be eligible for a certification test and become a certified ECG technician.
